Solar System & Battery System working together
Your solar system is always connected to the grid, meaning when everything is operating as normal and there are no outages, you are able to take electricity from it during the time of low solar energy production (i.e. night-time, overcast/cloudy days). This also works in reverse where you send back any unused Electricity you have generated throughout the day, which you may be entitled to get credits from (depending on location and electricity company)
When you lose connection to the grid, your Battery will operate as a replacement. This means all the power you have fed into the Battery through your Solar is now being used in your home. It will continue to do so until it is empty – but once you get Power back on and your Solar functions again, it will charge back up so you are ready for the next outage
Battery without a Solar System?
It is possible to get a Battery without having a Solar System Installed – for example if your roof is not suitable (too small for example), you experience a lot of shading (from trees or a tall building) or there are some medical reasons people want a Battery installed
The main benefit of a Battery is to provide Electricity in an emergency like an outage or loss of power. In some cases, it is imperative to have a backup supply of electricity – for example, a hospital or other medical building. And depending on where you live and how frequent it is, power outages are very common in some areas so the technology is a necessity for some
